Resettings rings

I had a stone reset and a ring remade so I can now stack and wear them with my wedding ring. The jeweler did a wonderful job!

One of my old rings (pictured below on the left), although really beautiful and unique, is thick and doesn’t go well with my wedding ring which is why I had the diamond reset into a thin 18k rose gold bezel ring (pictured below on the right). The glowing rich colour of the gold really makes the diamond stand out.

I also had a really old busy yellow gold flower ruby ring (pictured below on the left) remade into a single ruby twisted stacking ring (pictured below on the right). The marquise ruby was set east-west and the gold was reused.

Below are my thin yellow and rose gold rings together. I just purchased a plain thin yellow gold twisted band and plain thin yellow gold band on Etsy. I plan to wear the rings above with them and stack them together on my wedding ring finger. Can’t wait to get stacking!

Antique Art Deco Wedding Ring

My wedding ring is a delicate antique Art Deco ring from an Etsy seller, Addy. It’s made of 18k yellow gold and 3 small old mine cut diamonds set in platinum. The yellow gold is quite rosy in colour and the diamonds are cushion shaped with the middle one being slightly longer. The ring is dainty, good for everyday wear, and beautiful. I wear my wedding ring and engagement ring seperately because they look nice on it’s own.

Intimate Vineyard Wedding

So much has happened over the past year. I started my first full time office job after I graduated from university, bought my first home with my then fiance, and got married!

I married my highschool sweetheart after nearly 7 years together in November last year at a beautiful rustic vineyard in Mornington, Tucks Ridge. Melbourne spring weather was terrible. It was cold and rainy but luckily on the day of the wedding the sun came through! It was warm and dry throughtout the whole day, just beautiful.

Our wedding was very intimate, with just our close family and friends to witness our special day. I never dreamt of weddings when I was younger and the stress of even planning a small wedding made me want to elope but I’m so glad we didn’t because it was such an amazing day and we loved sharing it with our close family and friends.

Antique Art Deco Engagement Ring

My boyfriend, now fiance, of 6 years proposed to me last December before Christmas. He gave me a beautiful Art Deco platinum diamond ring from the 1920s. The diamonds are Old European cut, with a larger one in the centre, two smaller ones positioned north and south, surrounded by 15 tiny diamonds. What I love most about it is the unique shape, the intricate lines, the chunky cut diamonds, and the miligrain. The ring has so much character and I absolutely love it!

Warm Coats and Jumpers

Even though it’s Spring here in Australia, I still enjoy looking for coats and jumpers to wear for the next Winter and Autumn season. I haven’t bought any clothes online before but I like doing a lot of online browsing, looking for inspiration before I go clothes shopping. These are some of my inspirations for coats and jumpers for the next cold season:

Vintage Leather Bag Haul

I usually get my vintage leather bags from the Camberwell flea market. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find nice vintage leather bags at op shops/thrift shops. I do find nice ones in vintage shops but they are usually expensive. At the flea market I go to, there are so many to choose from at different stalls and most are priced between $10 to $60 (AU) depending on the stall, brand, and condition of the bag. I usually get ones under $25, which is really cheap for a genuine vintage leather bag. Below are the bags I got in the past few months, and all of them come with long straps.

Antique Victorian Sapphire & Diamond Bow Ring

My birthday is coming up and my boyfriend gave me a beautiful dainty antique 1850’s Victorian bow ring. It’s made up of two pear cut sapphires, nine tiny old cut diamonds, an 18k delicate gold band, and a platinum milgrain bow setting with hidden swirl engravings. It’s even more breathtaking in person.

The ring was from a lovely Antique ring Etsy shop, Gold Adore.

Dainty Antique Art Deco Rings

Dainty rings look so lovely and feminine on the finger. However, dainty antique rings are even more exquisite to look at. Many are made up of diamonds and/or coloured stones, a thin yellow gold band, and an interesting milgrain platinum setting. The intricate designs and hand cut stones make the rings unique in their own way. Below are a number of dainty antique art deco rings from Esty that I love!

Crossbody handbags

My favourite type of bag is the crossbody or sling bag that come with thin long straps. The long strap allows you to wear the bag across the body or off the shoulder. When I go out, and don’t need to take a lot of things, these types of bags are perfect. They are convenient, easy to carry, and easy to access. They come in many different shapes, colours, materials, and sizes, suitable for different occasions such as fancy cocktail parties, casual shopping, or adventurous day trips.

Some of my favourites:

Fossil Leather Vintage Re-issue Floral Crossbody bag:

The style of this bag is also called ‘Saddle’ hangbag.

Vintage leather draw string bag from my mum:

I love the floral print on this one.

Leather crossbody/sling bag from Camberwell Flea Market:

A very simple but easy to access small bag that can fit quite a lot of things.

Vintage Leather Marco Polo crossbody bag:

The bag that started it all. My first leather crossbody bag!

Vintage/vintage inspired ‘Docter’ purse from Camberwell Market:

Perfect for the night out!

Chunky Gemstone Gold Rings

I recently found an inspiring professional make-up artist on Youtube. Her name is Lisa Eldridge and she does make-up for many A-list celebrities. I was never good at putting make-up on so it’s interesting to watch her videos. My favourite make-up piece would have to be the lipstick! A tip I learnt from one of her videos is that you can use your lipstick as a cream blusher. Aside from the make-up, the rings that she wears in her videos are very beautiful and eye catching. She usually wears her chunky sapphire yellow gold rings made by William Welstead. I went on Etsy to find similar and equally beautiful designs. The combination of yellow gold and chunky colourful gemstones makes them bold eye catching statement pieces, yet they have a warm, soft, and luscious look to it.
